II International Meeting of the Sociolinguistics Working Group
II EIGTS, satellite event, is a space for discussion/presentation of research from different Brazilian centers in the area of Sociolinguistics/Dialectology. The works developed (or under development), which are presented and debated during the event fall into four thematic axes, namely: (i) variation and linguistic change; (ii) contact, variation and identity; (iii) sociolinguistics and teaching; and (iv) theoretical and methodological issues. From these four lines of work, annually, members of the ANPOLL Sociolinguistics Working Group meet for such activity. This year 2019, the event, organized more than 20 years ago, was incorporated into the activities of the I FIS, taking advantage of the coming of international researchers, also becoming an intermediate meeting of international level.
In this sense, the II EIGTS has, in its programming, 25 presentations and research discussions by research professors, 02 debate tables, as well as the launching of books and cultural activity. It involves national and international researchers in order not only to discuss the repercussions of Brazilian research within and outside Brazil, but also to propose strategies for their greater visibility and insertion at the (inter)national level.
